LARGE ANIMAL PRACTICE ISSUES
Frequent Legal Dilemmas Faced by Equine Veterinarians (2 hours)
Equine practitioners frequently are faced with challenging legal questions as they conduct their daily business activities. These legal dilemmas range from the relatively straightforward of “whether veterinarians have a duty of confidentiality” to the more complex of drug compounding and “what are the minimum standards for performing pre-purchase examinations.” Even more challenging is that even though some situations may appear similar on the surface, the unique facts of each scenario may require the application of a different law or application of the same law that leads to a different result. This seminar will give attendees a sampling of some of the legal issues faced on a daily basis by equine veterinarians.
